This module is a 16-channel IO expansion module with an I2C interface, featuring the built-in MicroChip MCP23017 chip. The chip's functionality has been fully implemented. The MCP23017 is a high-speed I2C interface chip that supports I2C frequencies of 100kHz, 400kHz, and 1.7MHz. The chip includes three address pins, allowing for eight different addresses to be set. This means up to 8 modules can be connected via two I2C buses, enabling a maximum of 128 IO expansions.


This module is highly configurable and features strong driving capability. It also supports multiple parallel connections.

The A0, A1, and A2 address selection pins on the module are all connected to GND, so the default I2C address of the MCP23017 device is 0x40.


When using the A0, A1, and A2 pins on the board to set the device address, please ensure the corresponding chip address is properly defined in your program.
