This module is a 16-channel IO expansion module with an I2C interface, featuring the built-in MicroChip MCP23017 chip. The chip's functionality has been fully implemented. Each IO can be individually configured as input or output, and supports internal pull-up resistors. Additionally, interrupt functionality can be enabled for IOs configured as inputs. The IO interface offers strong driving capability, with both source and sink currents reaching up to 25mA.
The MCP23017 is a high-speed I2C interface chip that supports I2C frequencies of 100kHz, 400kHz, and 1.7MHz. The chip includes three address pins, allowing for eight different addresses to be set. This means up to 8 modules can be connected via two I2C buses, enabling a maximum of 128 IO expansions.
This module is highly configurable and features strong driving capability. It also supports multiple parallel connections.
